Santa Barbara Weather

Santa Barbara climate is called warm-summer Mediterranean (Csb in Koppen climate classification), and by many it is considered to be the best possible weather in the world. The weather here is determined by geographical lattitude and proximity to the ocean, as well as the exposure to western winds, breezing cool air. Winters here are mild and warm, summers are warm, but not too warm, with average temperature between 57.5ºF and 76ºF (not counting extrema).

Precipitation

In winters storms reach California, which sometimes may bring heavy rainfall. Fortunately Coastal mountains can sometimes moderate this, depending on local winds (rainshadow effect). Summers in Santa Barbara are mostly rainless (but showers can happen)
